This cello was made in the workshop of master luthier Hagen Weise. Weise has been active since 1991 when he commenced work for the Roderisch Paesold Company in Bubenreuth, Germany. In 2004 Weise successfully completed his master violin-making examination. Since 2010 Weise has been dedicated to making fine instruments in his own workshop located in Bubenreuth, Germany. This instrument comes with a certificate from the maker.

The Hagen 330 has a two piece, moderately flamed maple back & the top is made from spruce. This cello has a good cover of dark to red brown varnish & has been lightly antiqued. The 330 has ebony fittings and a Wittner tailpiece.

Overall this cello has a warm sound & excellent projection. This instrument has outstanding resonance & a well-balanced sound. This instrument would be suitable for early tertiary study, and the advanced musician. This cello is currently fitted with Larsen ‘Magnacore’ strings which add a touch of brightness & brilliance to the overall warmth of this instrument.
